| A Fine 1930's Louis Vuitton style Steamer Trunk

This very fine trunk was manufactured in New York
by a luggage manufacturer called M.Cherry who
had a retail outlet on 5th Avenue.
It is re-enforced with oak rails and has a vellum border which is fixed with steel close nails.
It retains all its original trays inside and is in a beautiful restored condition.
The locks are all polished steel and the main lock is bell metal.
......this trunk is from the golden age of luggage making when the travelling classes journeyed in style and ones luggage and its appearance was of the utmost importance!!
A trunk of this size by Louis Vuitton would be £5,000.00 ... this is of equal quality but by a little known maker of the period.
